How much power a Portable Power Station has is measured by Watt Hours (WH). So, for example if the Power Station has 200 WH, then it will power a 1w appliance for 200 hours. Or more realistically a 20w appliance for 10 hours.
What can you power in the 0-500 wh range?
Laptop: A laptop uses between 50w and 100w of energy. Therefore, if we take the 100wh example, a 200wh Portable Power Station will power the laptop for roughly 2 hours. However, if we take the 50wh example the laptop will be powered for 4 hours.
Lights: A LED light uses about 10w. Therefore, a 200wh Portable Power Station would power it for 20 hours.
Phone: Phones charge at different power rates. Let’s take 10 watts as our example; a 250wh Power Station will charge your phone for 25 hours.
What uses is the 0-500wh range good for?
Anything under 500wh will be good for either light computer work or short camping trips. It all depends on how many appliances etc you use. This power range could also be used as an emergency power back-up for a few hours. You definitely could not use this for power tools or any sustained heavy work such as construction.
